Talk Staycations

Sometimes you don’t have the time to travel

Sometimes you don’t have the money to travel or you don’t have the accessibility to travel.

That’s when you Staycation.

Oxford dictionary defines a Staycation as “a vacation spent in one’s home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions.”

Last year, around the 2nd half of 2020 pandemic – I’d had it! I needed to figure out a way to travel, while not travelling. So, my friend & I packed a backpack full of hoodies, leggings & wine and drove upstate to Gurney’s resort in Montauk, NY.

Only 2 hours from home, we spent 1 day & 1 night doing whatever we wanted in a town unknown to us. The room itself was luxurious and clean with a huge balcony laced with a giant lush outdoor lounge sectional, directly on the beachfront. The bathrobes were plush. The food was delicious!

Talk Staycations

We spent that 1 night/day on the beachfront Resort ordering room service and talking about our dreams & hopes under the moon with the sound of the sea crashing in front of us. The trip was quick, but when the experience is meaningful you forget about time. You’d be shocked at how satisfying even a moment of silence can be, especially when you really need it.

Don’t feel bad if you don’t have the time or money to travel abroad right now – get creative! Look up some local resorts, spas, nail salons, hair parlors, you name it! The goal is just to take some time to relax.
